Absolutely recommend this shop! We have been going to Diablo Auto for several years now, ever since a friend referred me after my bad experiences with a dealership shop. The owner Tim diagnosed and inexpensively fixed the sudden stalling problem that Honda had been "unable" to fix in two separate visits. We take all our cars there for the scheduled tune-ups and trust Tim & staff to keep our cars running safely.

I wish to thank Tim and his team for the excellent service. I took my car in 2003 Toyota Highlander with 275,000 miles for a once over. As one can imagine a car with that many miles will have a long list of things that need service or replacement. Tim emailed me a thorough inventory of items that are a priority, will be needed in the the near future, should be monitored, and some that were just cosmetic. He called me and we discussed the list and prioritized the work. I agreed that stopping is fairly important so the brake job topped the list, then the oil leak, and the stalling that I was experiencing. The main items done first, and I have a list of the other needed maintenance to consider down the road.

It's a rare occasion when you can say that you actual enjoy the experience when you bring your automobile for service, but that 's how I feel dealing with Diablo Auto Specialists.

My car (91,000 miles) had been leaking coolant from the cylinder head gaskets for months, and I received quotes for the work from the nearby dealership and three private repair shops. Diablo Auto Specialists' pricing was not the lowest of the group (although all four quotes were in the same range), but Tim offered me a 3 day paid-for car rental--which the dealer also offered, but the other two private shops did not--as this was a 3 day job. Tim also included several extras in his quote to me, such as new spark plugs, air and fuel filters, and radiator hoses. During the inspection, Tim's mechanic found 3 other issues with my car, one of which (torn axle boot) I was aware of, one (rear brakes down to 3mm) that I was not surprised about, and the last (broken rear windshield washer pump) I was unaware of. He didn't push me on these findings, but I chose to have him replace the axle assembly, and hold off on the others. During the 3 days he had my car, Tim kept in contact with me, and, although it's only been a few days, my car has been running great since I picked it up. Diablo Auto Specialists has a nice, convenient location, and I find Tim/his shop to be honest and very likeable. I shall look to them for my next service or repair.

It's such a pleasure to get good service at an auto shop. Tim is very knowledgeable and delightful to deal with.
